A cure for better drinking
Medela Kombucha is a new, organic, and tasty soft drink that has an exciting balance between sweetness, acidity, and taste. Our kombucha comes in two different varieties: Raspberry and Ginger, each with a unique and fresh taste profile, which makes both varieties a special experience.
The name ‘Medela’ comes from latin which means cure since we think kombucha can be the cure to better drinking habits compared with both, alcohol and soda.
WHAT IS KOMBUCHA?
Simply put, kombucha is fermented tea. The process starts with brewing some green tea with sugar and adding to it a SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture Of Bacteria and Yeast), when the mix of sugar and tea is reaching room temperature.
As you might know from beer, Yeast is producing alcohol. This is also true when it comes to kombucha. The yeast is starting to eat the sugar in the tea and is transforming it into alcohol.
However, kombucha has a secret helper that eats all that alcohol – Bacteria. The bacteria will eat the alcohol produced by the yeast and will transform it into organic acids (Acetic acid, Glucuronic acid and Gluconic acid) which are healthy for you.
Because Beacteria will never eat all that alchohol right away, traces of alcohol might still be present in kombucha, but in ours is never more than 0.5%
We are currently offering two flavours of kombucha and we will expand our assortment at the end of summer 2022 with two more exiting flavours
